Temporary Skills Shortage (TSS) Subclass 482 Visa

The TSS Subclass 482 Visa allows employers to sponsor employees from professions experiencing labour shortages. There are two streams within the TSS 482 visa, the short-term stream which grants eligible employees a 2-year visa and the medium-term stream which grants a 4-year visa. This visa has full working rights but only allows you to work for your sponsoring employer. Both the short- and medium-term stream now have potential pathways to obtaining Permanent Residency.

COVID-19 Pandemic Event Visa

The Covid-19 Pandemic Event Visa allows for hospitality workers to remain in Australia for 12 months and grants it holders full working rights. This is a great opportunity for those looking to apply for a long-term visa to build up their work experience.

  • This visa is FREE to apply for: when applying please select “yes’’ to the ‘’visa application charge concession’’ questions and select the “Nil VAC’’ option in the application form

To be eligible

  • Apply online
  • Be onshore in Australia
  • Maintain adequate health insurance during your stay in Australia
  • Have evidence of employment or offer of employment (AVC can assist you with this, please email askHR@ausvenueco.com.au if you require a letter of employment)
  • Hold a substantive visa with work rights that expires in 90 days or less, or that expired 28 days ago or less

Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) Visa Subclass 494

This is an employer sponsored visa that grants its holders full working rights for 5 years, with a potential pathway to permanent residence (191) after 3 years from the time the visa is granted. It only allows a holder to live, work and study in designated regional areas of Australia. For our purpose, this includes all of Australia excluding Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane metropolitan areas.

To be eligible

  • Be nominated by an employer
  • Nominated to work in one of the above occupations
  • Under 45 years of age
  • Have 3 years full-time skilled work experience (since obtaining qualifications) in your nominated occupation
  • Have a positive skills assessment
  • Meet competency standards of English Language proficiency unless an exemption Passport holder
  • Have paid back debt to the Australian Government (or have formal arrangements to do so)
  • Not have had a visa cancelled or previous application refused

This visa grants its holder the right to work and live in Australia indefinitely, sponsor eligible family members to come to Australia and provides a potential pathway to citizenship.

  • Under 45 years of age
  • Have a positive skills assessment OR have been sponsored on a 482 visa with the same employer for 3 years
  • Meet health requirements
  • Meet character requirements
  • Meet competency standards of English Language proficiency
  • Have paid back debt to the Australian Government (or have formal arrangements to do so)
  • Not have had a visa cancelled or previous application refused
