International Women’s Day

3 min March 4th, 2021
As we gear up to celebrate International Women’s Day on Monday 8th March, we’re giving a shout-out to some of our incredibly talented Women Chefs!

AVC has a commitment to improving the gender balance across roles in our venues. Our AdVanCe Women program provides support via a mentoring platform to give our female talent the confidence and support to further their careers.

On Sunday 7th March and Monday 8th March, our talented women chefs will be serving up their favourite dishes at our AVC IWD staff event held in NSW, VIC, WA, QLD and NZ. Whilst our women bartenders will be partaking in a cocktail competition and bar takeover!

This event is a day to support and acknowledge our talented team of women at AVC!

Natasha Martin

Tash is currently an apprentice at the iconic Imperial Bourke St Hotel in Melbourne.  Tash has come leaps and bounds to really drive her career forward, mastering every section in the kitchen whilst remaining humble & positive. Tash is about to finish her apprenticeship and we have no doubt she will keep progressing with AVC once complete. A true asset to the Bourke St team, constantly smiling with a fantastic attitude. An AVC Superstar!

Kirra started with us as a Sous Chef at the relaunch of MPH and since then has grown from strength to strength and is leading the way! Beaming with creativity, fair and love for desserts, Kirra’s attention to detail is second to none. Her determination to continue to excel makes Kirra an incredible AVC leader.

Emilee Baksheev

Emilee Baksheev is The Duke’s current Sous Chef. Em’s hard work and talent in the kitchen is the reason she will be joining the starting team at AVC’s newly acquired pub, Sarah Sands Hotel.

Em’s career started in front of house, from cafes to bakery’s and catering companies she has explored many areas of the hospitality industry. Em was previously Sous Chef at the Woodlands in Coburg where they won Time Outs Best Pub Food award in 2017.

We can’t wait to see what Em will be dishing up at Sarah Sands!
